Support – Shiny

What is Shiny?

Shiny is a daily companion for people who are idea-rich but execution-poor. Capture thoughts, set a realistic must-win cap, and work through them in order. Survival mode and quiet mode (in Settings) soften days when you need a lighter plan.

Requirements

How the daily loop works

  1. Capture — voice or text; Share extension saves links and text to Inbox
  2. Brain check — sets how many must-wins fit today
  3. Plan — pick priorities from your inbox
  4. Now — one active task; Done, Skip, or Park
  5. Close — evening wrap and tomorrow prep

Voice capture & Apple Intelligence

On supported devices, voice capture is transcribed and organized on your iPhone. Audio is not sent to Lumera Labs.

If voice organize isn't available, check Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri or use typed capture instead. Microphone and speech access apply only while you record.

Calendar & reminders

Optional, toggled in Settings. Shiny reads today's events and incomplete reminders to suggest must-wins. It never creates, edits, or deletes anything in Calendar or Reminders.

If suggestions don't appear, allow access under Settings → Shiny on your iPhone.

iCloud sync

Data syncs through Apple CloudKit and may take a moment to appear on another device. If it looks stale, confirm iCloud sign-in, force-quit and reopen Shiny, or check storage under Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud.

Widget, Share extension & Shortcuts

Notifications

Local reminders only — check-ins, re-entry prompts, and focus follow-ups. Turn off or adjust in Settings; any notification can be snoozed.

Reset or delete your data

On this iPhone: Settings → Reset local data in the app (cannot be undone).

iCloud: delete Shiny from your devices or remove its data under Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage.

Something isn't working

  1. Force-quit Shiny and reopen it
  2. Restart your iPhone
  3. Install the latest version from TestFlight or the App Store

Still stuck? Email hello@lumeralabs.com with your iPhone model, iOS version, and what you were doing. Screenshots help.

TestFlight beta feedback

Beta testers can also use TestFlight's Send Beta Feedback. Note whether Apple Intelligence was enabled if voice capture was involved.
